Kerwin Du Bois - Welcome to The Carnival*
Carnival Sensations Caribbean Society is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our mission is to promote the history and culture of the Caribbean through education and cultural exhibition. This is done primarily through our presentation of locally designed and handmade costumes in parades and at events throughout the Lower Mainland of BC.

Making History

Entering Pride

Carnival Sensations participated in the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 4, 2013 and made history as the first full Caribbean entry since the Parade’s inception. Starting out as a protest march through Davie Village in 1978, the Vancouver Pride Parade is now the largest parade of any kind in Western Canada, with over 150 float and parade entries and over 700,000 attendees. Carnival Sensations’ mission is to promote the history and culture of the Caribbean through education and cultural exhibition, and we are proud to have achieved this while also supporting inclusion and equality for all.

Community Engagement

We were recognized for our energy and unique style by being awarded the ‘Captivating Community Cluster’ in 2013 from the Vancouver Pride Society. As this was Carnival Sensations’ first year participating in the Vancouver Pride Parade, we were honoured to receive this award in recognition of our spirited representation of the Caribbean community. For information on joining Carnival Sensations on the road in 2014, please email carnival.sensations@gmail.com.
